Atmosphere last night
Didn’t live up to Sevilla, did it? I suppose it was never going to with it being the first leg but even so.

A big misstep letting STHs claim all the tickets for their divvy mates. Letting enthusiastic claret members purchase those tickets would have seen to a better atmosphere.

And too many nimbys in the lower tiers behind the goals not willing to shuffle down a bit to let more people stand in a bid to get a better atmosphere going.

Block 140 row 4 and didn’t sit down once. Like you say not Saville level but still better than most matches over there. Certainly had more bite in the air which was only compounded by the bent ref which resulted in a fair amount of anger being vented as opposed to joy, etc but still had a great time and before the match never seen the surrounding areas so busy.

The Carpenters was rammed hours before the match. Trying to walk around or get a beer outside the stadium was impossible and even an hour before the match the bars in the ground were mobbed. Was a great atmosphere in the anticipation of the match.

Re: Atmosphere last night
The atmosphere changed during the game. At first it was a bit flat but after the sending off I thought it was ok. At one point the whole stadium was rocking to 'West Ham are massive" and that went on for quite a while. In block 109 even us old blokes were giving it some...

I sit in 246 and the atmosphere was pretty good!

Re: Atmosphere last night
It was never going to be like the Sevilla game due to it being the first leg. The players were understandably edgy, which made the crowd edgy. The sending off added to that.

Unlike you to suck the atmosphere out of something, crossed yiddo son?

Re: Atmosphere last night
We were all stood in 255 but it seemed a lot wanted to sit. A few of the older blokes seemed to be struggling and even some of the younger ones would sit down whenever the ball went out of play.

Didn't sit down in my section the whole match. But the majority of the Bonds stands was sat down sadly.

Great in 123. The atmosphere was good bearing in mind the game.

Re: Atmosphere last night
Atmosphere was fine in 131 last night, plenty of noise for most of the game, although understandably there were lulls predominately due to being mugged by the bent ref.
Although a lot of the crowd seemed to be more interested in the shenanigans in the stands early in the first half....

Re: Atmosphere last night
First legs are tricky. Fans go mad and we are told we are over celebrating. Can’t win either way.

Crossed hammers have you had that post saved in drafts since draw was made.

Your obsessed with singing competitions.

Re: Atmosphere last night
thought it was pretty good, especially second half. The ref ruined it. Hard to keep shouting when you are watching the opposition passing the ball sideways and not getting the ball

“IF we get through and play Barca I reckon it will be back to Seville atmosphere.”

Still gonna be the same issue though with the first leg being at home.

Re: Atmosphere last night
Better than Everton game at the weekend, not as good as Seville.

Don't think it was because of the ticket allocation even though it wasn't fair.

I think there was a certain amount of nerves aded to the fact that the away legs was the more important result.

IF we get through and play Barca I reckon it will be back to Seville atmosphere.
